Wonde is a third party service for transferring and updating data between a school's student administration system and Infiniti and LibPaths. If your student administration system is compatible with Wonde and your school's IT support engages the services of Wonde, then the transfer of data between your school's administration system and Infiniti and LibPaths can be "set and forget".  Once set up, updates will run according to the schedule implemented by your IT Manager. This process allows records from your student administration system to be synchronised with Infiniti and LibPaths at scheduled intervals. A non-interactive manual user import is also available as an alternative method for importing patrons by manually importing a CSV file.

All patrons require a basic profile to be registered. Patron profiles can also be registered or updated via manual entry, manual import or non-interactive import

Before Getting Started

There are four (4) separate sets of data than can be automatically imported into Infiniti and LibPaths. The following will help your local IT support to determine if Wonde will transfer all the data required for the level of functionality you require from Infiniti and LibPaths.

Wonde will transfer data from your preferred data source, usually a student administration system, into the Wonde database. From there the data will be imported into Infiniti and LibPaths based on the schedule you determine best suits your demographic.

The minimum data elements required by Infiniti to function as a library management system are:

  • unique person identifier (username),
  • person first name,
  • person last name,
  • person email address (if you want to email overdue notices),
  • unique library barcode or a unique identifier (if you want the person to borrow from your library), and
  • person (student) academic level, or person (teacher) group
These data elements should be transferred from your student administration system.

The minimum data elements required by LibPaths to function as a portal delivery system are:

  • unique person identifier (username),
  • person first name,
  • person last name,
  • person (student) academic level, and
  • person (student) subject/class group(s).

If your student administration system does not store or cannot transfer these data elements, then the data transfer from student administration system to Wonde and then from Wonde to Infiniti cannot be performed in a single operation. For example, if your student administration system does not store a unique library barcode for each person, then a separate import or update process will be required to assign a library barcode or unique identifier to each person who will be borrowing books.

Infiniti also stores:

  • student photos for circulation,
  • parent and guardian email addresses for communication, and
  • library groups for determining library collection access. Note: LibPaths may require library groups for sharing portals.
These data elements and resources cannot be transferred via Wonde and must be imported separately if required.

Before enabling Wonde in Infiniti or LibPaths you should confirm where data required by Infiniti and/or LibPaths will be sourced from - your student administration system or another source. Data not automatically imported via Wonde can be automatically imported using the integrated autoSync functionality.

Note: Education Queensland schools are not permitted to use Wonde at this time.
